Allergic dermatitis

Cosmetics - one of the allergens

Allergic dermatitis - skin inflammatory processes, the cause of which was the effect of irritant-allergen. Pathology proceeds with characteristic symptoms such as redness, itchy feeling, the appearance of sores and bubbles.

If atopic dermatitis (diathesis) is most often dealt with by parents when the patient is still walking under the table, allergic dermatitis is often the prerogative of adult patients (children are at lower risk).

People with a predisposition to allergic and dermatic manifestations are prone to this form of pathology. Many do not focus on minor rashes of dermatic origin, which is not entirely correct. After all, this is a serious pathology that affects many organic systems, and not a simple cosmetic defect.

Even a mild manifestation can damage the body’s immune defenses, so it requires medical attention and appropriate therapeutic measures.

General facts

obshestvo1 Allergic dermatitis is equally susceptible to the entire population of the planet, although some still have a particular tendency toward it. This pathology is not contagious, because it is the body’s inflammatory response to the irritant effect of the allergen factor.

And cosmetic imperfection is just a harmless fact. Allergic dermatitis provokes the characteristic appearance of puffiness, intense reddening and burning, peeling and itchy feelings that seriously affect the patient’s life, especially its quality.

A similar pathological condition develops according to a rather simple algorithm. Irritant allergenic factor, falling on the skin or mucous surface of the mucous membranes or the skin, starts the allergic inflammatory process:

  1. After contact with an allergic antigenic substance, antibodies and antibodies are hypersensitive to this factor;
  2. For subsequent contact with the antigen, the body responds with dermatitis of an allergic nature.
By the way, if the rash is located at the site of contact with the allergen and does not spread throughout the body, then the patient most likely has simple contact dermatitis .

Compared with ordinary dermatitis, the allergic variety is characterized by lesions that have no clear boundaries, and extensive localization, independent of the site and area, interacting with the allergen substance. In addition, the usual dermatitis, in contact with a group of certain allergenic stimuli, manifests itself in each patient.

Household chemicals Simply put, the stimulus factor is inherently unsafe, and therefore provokes similar processes (burns and rashes from acids, solvents, household chemicals, etc.).

Allergic dermatitis occurs in relation to such substances to which the body developed sensitization. It is considered an immediate reaction, because the body hypersensitive to the antigenic compound almost instantly reacts to contact.

Often, atopic and allergic dermatitis are considered the same disease and treatment is often similar. The borders are actually blurred, but we will look at these diseases separately:

  1. The mechanism of disease development is different. Because of this, atopic dermatitis may occur some time after contact with an allergen (sometimes several days). Relapses occur for unknown reasons. In allergic patients, rashes appear very quickly;
  2. Allergic dermatitis always means the presence of an allergen and antibodies. According to recent studies, atopic dermatitis may also have a non-allergic nature;
  3. Atopic dermatitis requires a genetic predisposition. Allergies in any person can be acquired;
  4. ADD first occurs in early childhood. If an adult has similar problems, this is the maximum allergic.

Classification

Experts identify many varieties of pathology:

  1. Contact allergic dermatitis - occurs due to interaction with environmental factors such as chlorinated water, soap, detergents or cleaning products, wool, plant pollen, insects, etc .;
  2. Food dermatitis is an allergic response of the immune system to specific foods;
  3. Atopic form - represents the whole complex of respiratory syndromes, pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract and skin lesions. Such allergic dermatitis almost always have exactly allergic overtones, but differ somewhat with traditional allergic reactions, since they are spontaneous.

The reasons

21_thumb1 The culprits of allergic dermatitis, as already explained, are stimulating factors that, if they enter the blood, bind to large protein blood cells. The resulting compound triggers allergic processes. The most common allergens that provoke such states:

  • Cosmetics , personal care products (shampoos, soap, toothpaste, creams, etc.). Today there is a huge choice of cosmetics, which, unfortunately, very often cause contact dermatitis of an allergic nature. Clinical and symptomatic manifestations are observed in places where there is a cosmetic: on the surface of the face, eyelids, lips, etc.
  • Pharmaceuticals . Any form of medicine can be the culprit of pathology: tablets, creams, ointments, injections, etc. Among the highly allergenic drugs, sulfanilamides, antibiotics, vitamins, etc. are leading;
  • Plants . Perhaps the most common factor provoking allergic dermatitis. The reaction may occur on the sap or pollen of houseplants, meadow grasses, trees. Pollen moves through the air for long distances. If there is a hypersensitivity to a particular plant, then for an allergic person, even smoke caused by burning this plant is dangerous;
  • Water from the tap . For disinfecting purposes, the water supplied to the population is cleaned with chlorine-containing compounds, especially in the spring floods. It is chlorine that is the causal factor of allergic dermatitis of unclear etiology. With such a pathological condition, it is desirable to switch to water from sources or install good cleaning filters in the apartment.

voda-kran Thus, the allergen enters the body in 3 ways: Direct contact with the skin, food (and water), respiration.

A variety of allergenic substances and atmospheric phenomena are capable of provoking a reaction: sweat, sunlight, essential oils, chemical compounds, rubber and its varieties, and various foods, from nuts and seafood to honey and sugar. It is almost impossible to list them within the framework of only one article, since there are a lot of them.

Symptoms and diagnostics

The clinical picture of such pathological processes is determined by the type and allergenic factor that caused them. So, contact dermatitis appear:

  • The occurrence of burning and itching sensations;
  • Swollen affected locations;
  • The appearance of watery bubbles, and after their rupture - ulcers and erosions;
  • Redness of skin or erythema.

Allergic dermatitis is accompanied by symptoms similar to the acute forms of eczema, when red spots are spread on the skin, on which bubbles form, and after opening, weeping sores, later covered with crusts and scales. Similar lesions occur at the points of direct contact (primary) or at a relative distance from similar zones (secondary foci).

Rashes can easily occur on the face , in which case they are easily confused with seborrheic d-volume .

Treatment

Allergism Diagnosis involves the identification of allergic pathogens, which is feasible with the help of a variety of tests applied to the skin. On further reaction, the substance-allergen is calculated.

This is the main goal, since after the identification and elimination of the allergen, the symptoms of the pathology gradually disappear, and in 99% of cases this is enough .

Indoor microclimate Important for the treatment of allergic dermatitis is the indoor microclimate. For quick recovery, the patient is recommended to provide conditions with 45-55% humidity and 20-24 ° C temperature.

Emollient plays an important role in maintaining the barrier function of the skin, both in children and in adults. Emolent should be applied to problem areas of the skin once a day, preferably after water procedures.

To remove the burning-itchy sensation, use of menthol or D-Panthenol ( Bepanten ) ointment is indicated .

Antihistamines In addition to local treatment, it is recommended to take drugs of the antihistamine group , for example:

  • Erius , comes in the form of tablets for adults and syrup for children;
  • Zodak , pills or drops;
  • Zyrtec , pills or drops;
  • Fenistil , drops for oral administration;
  • Claritin , tablets or syrup;
  • Tsetrin , tablets (from 6 years).

Different patients may have different reactions to drugs, so it would be incorrect to say that one is better and the other is worse, all individually. However, antihistamines should be selected only modern, related to the latest generation (see list), because they have a minimum number of side effects.

160046 In the acute phase, hormonal ointments ( Prednisolone , Advantan , Hydrocortisone , Sinaflan , Elokom ) can be prescribed, but they are used for several days in order to relieve an attack. It should be understood that glucocorticosteroids for any disease is not a panacea, but only a temporary solution.

At the acute stage of atopic dermatitis, when oozing vesicles, crusting and peeling are observed, it is recommended to use disinfectants and anti-inflammatory drugs before healing of wounds, for example: D-Panthenol , Baneotsin , Levomekol .

Features of treatment of different forms: weeping , bullous , exfoliative .

In the course of treatment it is recommended to avoid contact with water, as the condition of irritated skin only worsens from this. Wash hands a minimum of times and mild soap. It is worth trying disinfecting wipes for wiping hands, and wash with soap and water just before eating.

If the skin has been scratched, use a healing ointment to restore it as soon as possible (for example Actovegin or Solcoseryl ).

Sweat can also worsen the condition of the skin, so it is recommended to change underwear more often.

To prevent allergic dermatitis, it is recommended to eat right, balance the diet , use less strong household chemicals, spend more time in nature, and lead an active and healthy lifestyle.

    It helped me to go to the salt cave well. At the Halocenter, the doctor advised me to go.
