Composition and action
The main active ingredient of Travogen cream is isoconazole nitrate (synthetic imidazole derivative). It quickly penetrates from the cream into the cells of the affected area and destroys the membranes of the microbial cell, inhibits the synthesis of its ergosterol. Isoconosol reaches its maximum antimycotic concentration in the skin after 60 minutes and maintains it for 7 hours.
Auxiliary ingredients: sorbitol monostearate, vaseline oil, purified water, polysorbate, soft paraffin, cetyl stearyl alcohol.
Isoconazole negatively affects and completely inhibits the growth of yeast-like, yeast, mold fungi and gram-positive bacteria. It has a local antibacterial and antifungal effects. It acts fungistatically, inhibits and stops the growth of the fungus. Effective against gram-positive bacteria Streptococcus spp, Staphylococcus spp, yeast-like and yeast fungi Pityrosporum orbiculare and Candida spp, dermatophytes Epidermophyton, Microsporum, Trichophyton.
The maximum concentration in the skin is reached already after 1 h and is maintained in the epidermis about 20 µg / ml ± 40 µmol / l, in the stratum corneum about 3,500 µg / ml ± 7 mmol / l, derma about 3 µg / ml ± 6 µmol / l. Removal of the stratum corneum before applying the cream leads to an increase in the concentration of isoconazole by about 2 times. The content of isoconazal in the epidermis and the stratum corneum also significantly exceeds its minimum concentration, providing a stronger antifungal and inhibitory effect on pathogenic microorganisms (mold fungi, dermatophytes, yeast).
